Active Birth Testimonials
I found the yoga active birthing workshop by far the most useful session to prepare for my pending labour to date. While the antenatal classes in hospital are vital too, this class went beyond the usual standard information. For example, I was opened up to more options in pain relief, that have made me possibly reconsider my original birthplan (we’ll see of course!) And I am now very familiar with all the various labour signs plus what calming things I can do to relax myself when the contractions begin. It took a lot of the general fear away for me also – the more I knew, the more relaxed I felt. And it was extra reassuring having both Rachel and one of the other students relate their own previous birth stories. What was also especially nice was that there were only a few of us in attendance that day which made it more intimate and cosy – like chatting in someone’s sitting room! It is the kind of experience that you can’t get from books, websites, or even the large antenatal classes in busy hospitals.
I attended Rachel’s active birth workshop, I had put labour to the back of my mind. I was introduced to Gentle Birth Hypnobirthing by Rachel which has helped to relax me and prepare me for giving birth. It was a very relaxing and interactive workshop and I felt comfortable asking any questions no matter how silly they seemed. I left the workshop feeling a lot more confident about labour and would recommend it to pregnant women.
I would really recommend the active birth workshop. Rachel takes you through everything you need to know about labour and the tools you can use to get you through and recover from it such as labour positions, homeopathy, pain relief and hypnobirthing.
Thanks a mill for Saturday’s Active Birth Workshop. I really enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere with the other girls. The class environment made it easy to soak up the useful nuggets of information which I’ll hopefully remember on the day!
Thanks again for a great day on Saturday. I really enjoyed it and I found it was a lovely relaxed atmosphere even though I didn’t know most of the girls there. I found it very helpful and it covered everything I hoped and then some more. I don’t think I have any questions left in me now and I cant think of anything I would have added to it. It was great to hear about your own experience as well.

I attended the Active Birth workshop at the end of March. I am a very nervous patient, have an unempathetic consultant and have been apprehensive throughout the pregnancy thinking about the birth. However Rachel’s workshop made me feel as if giving birth is something I can now do and amazingly even think it’s a day I might be able to look forward to. All my questions and more were answered on the course. Rachel gave very honest detailed answers on everything she could and the class was fun and interactive, even on topics that previously would have freaked me out to even think about. I now feel I’m looking forward to the birth and meeting my baby, more than I ever would have thought possible and I want to wholeheartedly thank Rachel for giving me that possibility.
